Now, I\u2019m not in the habit of\u00a0\u00a0contradicting the bard, however for me the food of love is, well, food. There is nothing better for the heart and the soul\u00a0than having a wide selection of grub to get stuck into and for me, to paraphrase\u00a0another great British literary <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/William_Cowper\">William<\/a>, variety is the spice of life.<\/p>\n<p>Of course Nagoya doesn\u2019t quite have the international culinary diversity of London, New York, or even Tokyo. However, if you know where to look you can find some really excellent international restaurants. And luckily for you, we at Japan Info Swap know\u00a0precisely where to look.<\/p>\n<h3>Mongolian &#8211; Mongol Shinkiro<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-31083\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/mongol.png\" alt=\"mongol\" width=\"105\" height=\"100\" \/>If there is one thing that the Monglians knew &#8211; other than brutal domination &#8211; it&#8217;s food, so much so that in Japan Jingisukan (Genghis Khan) is pretty much the standard name for barbecued lamb. There are a few decent places around Nagoya, but it&#8217;s only at Sakae&#8217;s Mongol Shinkiro that you dine\u00a0in a room styled like a yurt whilst wearing traditional Mongolian dress. With pizzas to rival Solo and Cesare in Osu, a pretty decent wine menu, and an ever changing specials selection, Seconda Bambina (part of the Bambinba chain) is as close to a genuine Italian restaurant as you are likely to find. It has a lively yet intimate atmosphere, and it&#8217;s a really enjoyable night out. In fact, it is such a favourite of mine that it is where I recently proposed to my girlfriend. It gets a little chilly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Moroccan &#8211; Casablanca<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-31087\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Moroccan.png\" alt=\"moroccan\" width=\"135\" height=\"100\" \/>Casablanca claims to be &#8220;Nagoya&#8217;s one and only authentic Moroccan restaurant&#8221;,\u00a0and as I do not know of another one, it is hard to dispute those claims. What I will say is that the food is as close to that I had when visiting Marrakech a few years back, with the tagines being particularly good. The riad styled restaurant also has belly dance shows in which a fortunate (or perhaps unfortunate?) few can take part.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Address<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.jp\/maps\/place\/%E3%82%AB%E3%82%B5%E3%83%96%E3%83%A9%E3%83%B3%E3%82%AB\/@35.176346,136.912753,15z\/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x8f0f6c9dea971ab4?sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwiimfukktfPAhWnjVQKHcSsA5wQ_BIIcDAK\">Takaoka Residence 1F, 1-9-14 Izumi, Higashi-ku<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Website<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casa-nagoya.com\/english\/\">www.casa-nagoya.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Top Tip<\/strong>: Dine there for a friend&#8217;s birthday and see them &#8216;enjoy&#8217; taking part in the live show.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Indian &#8211; Sagarmatha Momo House<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-31090\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Screen-Shot-2016-10-14-at-10.11.18.png\" alt=\"screen-shot-2016-10-14-at-10-11-18\" width=\"98\" height=\"100\" \/>On first sights\u00a0Sagarmatha Momo House doesn&#8217;t look like much &#8211; just a counter and a few tables, your average &#8216;Indian&#8217; restaurant run by Nepalis. But its actually the best Indian food I&#8217;ve had in the city. Whopping great big naans, a wide range of curries, and the best samosas I&#8217;ve had since leaving Birmingham, England seven years ago. Highly recommended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>American &#8211; The 59s Sports Bar and Diner<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-31089\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/59-s.jpg\" alt=\"59-s\" width=\"78\" height=\"100\" \/>There are a few well known American\u00a0restaurants around Nagoya: TGI Fridays and Shooters in particular. But whether it is due to the clinical nature\u00a0of the former, or overkill of\u00a0the latter (I dread to think how many nights I&#8217;ve ended up there) for an American diner I prefer The 59s. The food is top notch, they have a huge screen on which to watch big sporting events, and their bar is stocked with tonnes\u00a0of international beers.
