Now, I&#8217;m not in the habit of\u00a0\u00a0contradicting the bard, however for me the food of love is, well, food. There is nothing better for the heart and the soul\u00a0than having a wide selection of grub to get stuck into and for me, to paraphrase\u00a0another great British literary <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/William_Cowper\">William<\/a>, variety is the spice of life.<\/p>\n<p>Of course Nagoya doesn&#8217;t quite have the international culinary diversity of London, New York, or even Tokyo. However, if you know where to look you can find some really excellent international restaurants. And luckily for you, we at Japan Info Swap know\u00a0precisely where to look.<\/p>\n<h2>Canadian &#8211; Coat of Arms<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-29212\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/canada.jpg\" alt=\"canada\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/>Okay, not everyone will think of Canadian food\u00a0when the topic of international cuisine comes up, but that&#8217;s because they probably haven&#8217;t tried poutine. Coat of arms in Fushimi has all sorts of different foods sourced from the nations that comprise of the British Commonwealth, as well as even further afield, but it is the poutine &#8211; french fries topped with aged cheddar cheese and a light gravy that originates in the French-Canadian district of Quebec that is the pick of the bunch. The consensus in our office seems to be that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chottejiya.jp\/\">Chottejiya<\/a> in Sakae is one of the best Korean BBQ places around. Unfortunately I am yet to sample its delights. However I have been many times to Seoul Table in Meieki, and I find it difficult to imagine that it can be topped. They have a variety of BBQ pork dishes that they cook and prepare at your table, but the thing that sends it over the edge for me is the cheese chijimi. B1,\u00a0<span class=\"street-address\">4-24-8 Meieki, Nakamura-Ku<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Website<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/seoultable.com\/coupon.html\">www.seoultable.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Top Tip<\/strong>: I would recommend that you go with a group, as there is so much that you will want to choose, it can be a bit of a gutbuster if you go there as a pair, particularly if you plump for the cheese chijimi. Check the website for discount coupons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Mexican &#8211; Desperados<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-29214\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Mexican.jpg\" alt=\"Mexican\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/>Desperados in Shinsakae is widely considered the best Mexican place in Nagoya, though sometimes it is accused of being the best US style Mexican place in Nagoya. It isn&#8217;t the biggest of places, but once you have sampled from\u00a0their extensive selection of tequila, you probably won&#8217;t mind getting cozy with other Mexican food lovers. Run by Mexican born and US raised Rudy, and his wife Takako (who speaks great English), at best it is Mexican food, and at worst US-Mex. Unless you are from Mexico you probably don\u2019t know the difference anyway. I\u2019d recommend going for the buffet where you can eat as much as you like as waiters deliver flame grilled chicken, pork, sausages and beef\u00a0to your table carved directly from swords. Seriously tasty meat.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Address<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.jp\/maps\/place\/4+Chome-12-7+Sakae,+Naka-ku,+Nagoya-shi,+Aichi-ken+460-0008\/@35.167339,136.9093649,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x600370d01940b83b:0x8c11402d6a59e8e2\">4-12-7 Sakae, Naka Ward<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Website<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Sapuca%C3%AD-Restaurante-Brasileiro\/192928510787901\">Facebook page<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Top Tip<\/strong>: It can get pretty rowdy on weekends, so be prepared to raise your voice over the the other excitable guests as well as the house band.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Thai \u00a0&#8211; Siam Garden<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-29215\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Thai.jpg\" alt=\"Thai\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/>In the past we have told you about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.japantravel.com\/view\/nagoya-s-thai-kitchen-pakuchi\">Higashi Sakura Pakuchi<\/a>\u00a0in Sakae, which does a great job of recreating the atmosphere of Thailand, but of you want really good upmarket Thai food, it&#8217;s to Siam Garden in Fushimi you should go. It&#8217;s a bit pricier than many of the other Thai restaurants, but it is very elegant, and the food is impressively authentic. The building itself is beautiful, and it has been said\u00a0that it used to be the Thai Embassy. You have been warned!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Vietnamese &#8211; Thu An<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-29216\" src=\"http:\/\/japaninfoswap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/viet.jpg\" alt=\"viet\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/>The chef who owns the shop has over 20 years of experience cooking Vietnamese food, and was once the \u201cVice Chef,\u201d at a five star hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and\u00a0has prepared food for world class VIPs like the British Royal Family, so it is probably acceptable to the likes of you.
