For starters, the Japanese word for milk is <strong>gyuunyuu (\u725b\u4e73)<\/strong>. \u00a0You might often\u00a0see something called <strong>&#8220;Miruku&#8221; (\u30df\u30eb\u30af)<\/strong>, but this\u00a0may or may not be real milk. \u00a0If something is 100% real milk, it will <strong>always<\/strong> be labelled \u725b\u4e73, and anything else is most likely labelled with<strong> \u4e73\u88fd\u54c1 (milk product)<\/strong> or <strong>\u4e73\u98f2\u6599 (milk-drink).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Next, you will want to look at fat content. A regular Japanese brand of milk is about 3.6% fat, so you will see this number somewhere on the carton (if only in the details section on the back). A really creamy version might be for example 4.4%, and then a low fat version might be something like 1.8%. Low fat milk is most often labelled like this: <strong>\u4f4e\u8102\u80aa\u725b\u4e73 <\/strong>(teishibou gyuunyuu).
