This is not a standard city bus; the “Me-Guru” bus is an air-conditioned model with nice seats and a snazzy gold paint job that will take you on whirlwind tour of the sites in the City Of Nagoya. Ok, perhaps whirlwind is a bit of an overstatement, but you know you are going to see these sites anyway, why not make a day out of it and see a few of them?

The “Me-Guru” is easy and cheap, with buses leaving every 30 minutes on weekends, and every hour on weekdays from Nagoya station. A day pass is 500 Yen for adults, 250 Yen for children, and can be purchased on the bus itself. That day pass will also get you into many of the attractions along the route at a discounted rate. Yurika Cards, Regular one-day, and the Do-nichi Eco Kippu are also accepted.

If you are interested, check out these suggested day trips utilizing the big gold bus!
